Use my iGoogle Bourne Search Gadget Tab

Click here to share my iGoogle tab for "The Ultimate Search for Bourne with Google"

See "The Ultimate Search for Bourne" on your Google homepage ยป

You might be thinking to yourself... What in the world is he talking about??

You may or may not be familiar with iGoogle. iGoogle is a customized search page. It is a cool little web portal that you can customize. There are hundreds of "gadget" modules that do everything from report the weather to check your email for you. Now as a part of the "Ultimate Search for Bourne with Google" game, brought to you by Universal and Google, you can snap in a special gadget that helps you play the game.

In addition to creating just one customized search page you can create several pages all linked together as tabs that are a part of your iGoogle experience. One nifty feature of the page is that you can share tabs that you create with others. I created a tab with all the tools that I will be using to play the "Ultimate Search for Bourne with Google" game.

Feel free to use the iGoogle tab that I create for playing the Ultimate Search for Bourne with Google.

As I add gadgets I will post update links to the tab here and at http://searchforbourne.blogspot.com

Today on the iGoogle Ultimate Search for Bourne with Google Gadget the clue from Vosen is:

"On July 16th the search is on."

The 7 countries that are part of the contest with there time zones are:

United States GMT +5, +6, +7
Canada (ex Quebec) GMT +5, +6, +7
United Kingdom GMT +zero
France GMT +1

Moving the Search for Bourne Information to a New Site

Since this blog is intended to be all the esoteric bits of the movies and books that I love to geek out about and not necessarily a promotional contest I have decided to move my hints and tips to:

http://searchforbourne.blogspot.com

http://theultimatesearchforbourne.blogspot.com

I will still post items about the movies here I will just limit my posts on the the other sites to mission related items (The Ultimate Search for Bourne Mission that is).

The video below is my first attempt at uploading something that I captured from the a flash based website. I will fix the audio soon.

There is a lot of new information in the intel section of the Bourne Ultimatum website

Web Articles Mentioning The Ultimate Search for Bourne with Google

The Game is Tracking Bourne and Solving Clues

A ZDnet Article published yesterday had this to say about "The Ultimate Search for Bourne""

"The third Bourne film, which stars Matt Damon and opens August 3, features a Google placement.

The game, inspired by all three Bourne films, launches Monday (July 16) in seven countries and incorporates a sweepstakes element. Players will assume the identity of a former CIA operative as they track rogue agent Jason Bourne across three continents and solve clues that bring them closer to uncovering Bourne's identity. The game can be played at www.google.com/bourne until the film's release and will include exclusive clips from Bourne Ultimatum."

In addition the article mentions that Google, Search, Images, Maps and YouTube will be used in the search. Participants in the search will be privy to exclusive preview footage of the film.

They keep using the word "game" Those of us who are serious are calling it a search.

Another Clue from Vosen

Yesterday I posted Vosen's first two clues in from the iGoogle "Ultimate Search for Bourne" Gadget. Today he said:

"Get familiar with the resources and be ready."

I can only assume that he means the online Google tools.

In the background of the first few iterations of the Bourne Ultimatum website images clearly from Google Earth were visible. I suspect that Google Earth and Google Maps are tools that will be very useful in the search for Bourne.

The image above was captured from Google Earth after I searched for Turin Italy. In the theatrical trailer Turin is listed a one of Bourne's sited locations.

Update to the Bourne Ultimatum Website

Yesterday I commented that I did not know the name of the CIA looking fellow that was directing others after Bourne, and was likely Abbott's successor. After last night's update its right there on the main page, which now looks like a timeline. It seems his name is VOSEN, which is consistent with name that I partially identified yesterday in the trailer. At that time I thought it was Uvasa, but with the name Vosen on the site with his pic above it I believe that this is actually his name. I will have to investigate what this means further tonight, as well as the other names on the timeline. From other indications in the trailer Vosen may be Bourne's ultimate mentor.

The Ultimate Search for Bourne Begins Monday July 16th

I WILL FIND HIM!

As a promotion for the Bourne Ultimatum Universal has partnered with Google to bring us; "The Ultimate Search for Bourne". While I don't know exactly what this will be the iGoogle USFB gadget has already started giving clues. I will post what I know and what I find out here. I may even post my strategy. Comments by others who are into The World of Bourne are always welcome.

Yesterday the man in the intro video said:

"The CIA can't hide Treadstone any longer. You're getting closer to finding the truth."

This morning it said:

"You're searching for the same thing Bourne is, on July 16th your pursuit begins."

The talking head in the video seems to be included in the theatrical trailer. I will find out who he is later today. I'm guessing that he's Ward Abbott's replacement.

The Places of Bourne

One aspect of the Bourne Trilogy that makes it so riveting is the setting.  Each place Bourne visits completely captures my imagination.  Zurich, Berlin, Paris, Marseilles, Moscow, Mykonos, Goa all just grab me.  One piece of trivia all of the scenes in the Bourne Identity that are set in Zurich were actually filmed in the Czech Republic.

Geography of The Bourne Supremacy

Part of what makes the Bourne movies so attractive are the locations. In tribute to these exotic places I am creating information pages about each of them on my google page creator test site. Check out my first offering in Places in The Bourne Supremacy - Berlin.
